31.01.2019 | Resolution of the Committee for Self-Employed (AGS) of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD)

Second Vote on the BREXIT and Remain!

The Committee for Self-Employed (AGS) of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) urges all political parties in the United Kingdom but in particular its sister party LABOUR with its SME4Labour division to pave the way for a second referendum on the BREXIT.

This will strengthen democracy as it allows the population to have fresh look at the issues in a much better-informed way. The aim of that second vote in our opinion must be that LABOUR, as a traditionally internationalist political force, fully supports a “Remain” position.

The UK is an indispensable part of the European Union family, a trusted ally in human rights and security issues, and a highly important economic partner. For many members of our membership base, a continued good cooperation with partners in the United Kingdom in the frame of the EU is highly important.

We urge you, our UK brothers and sisters, our Labour comrades, to remain in the fold of our common union.
